Veggie Pizza

Ingredients

1 tbsp instant yeast

2 cups flour

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

2 tbsp Dar Zaytoun Extra Virgin Olive Oil

500 g chopped tomato with sauce

200 g shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tsp ground oregano

1 tsp ground basil

1 tsp garlic powder

½ tsp salt

1 tomato, cut into wedges

1 onion, cut into wedges

½ cup black olives, sliced

1 cup mushroom, sliced

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven at 200°C.

  2. Mix instant yeast with one cup of warm water. Set aside.

  3. Sift the flour over a big bowl.

  4. Add sugar, salt, yeast mixture and olive oil.

  5. Mix until you get a soft, consistent dough.

  6. Knead the dough into a ball and brush it with olive oil.

  7. Cover it and let it rest for one hour.

  8. In a saucepan over medium heat, add the chopped tomatoes with sauce, oregano, basil, garlic powder, and salt. Stir to mix. Cook for 5 minutes or until boiling. Remove from heat and set aside.

  9. Spread the dough on a surface sprinkled with flour. Knead and roll it in the shape if a big circle.

  10. Brush a round oven tray with olive oil and then spread dough inside it.

  11. Spread the tomato sauce mixture on top of the dough to cover it completely except for the edges.

  12. Top it evenly with the tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, black olives, mushroom, and finally mozzarella cheese.

  13. Bake for 10 minutes. Slice into triangles and serve.
